\nNative American Tribes to Gather for \u2018Wiring the Rez\u2019 Conference on E-Commerce and Financial Technology
\n<\/strong>Phoenix, Arizona \u2013 January 17, 2023<\/p>\n

Native American tribes and tribal entrepreneurs will come together to discuss the complex tribal e-commerce environment to protect sovereignty and promote entrepreneurial diversification at the upcoming \u201cWiring the Rez\u201d conference.<\/p>\n

Information on navigating this complex tribal e-commerce environment will be shared with tribes, tribal entrepreneurs, and business providers at the \u201cWiring the Rez: Innovative Strategies for Business Development Via E-Commerce\u201d Conference on February 16-17, 2023, at Wild Horse Pass Casino & Resort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Business development in Indian Country has long been a significant challenge, though recent improvements in broadband coverage, tribal fintech, and legal understandings offer greater opportunities for business development on Tribal land. \u201cTribes engaging in business on reservations must consider using e-commerce to diversify and strengthen tribal economies,\u201d said Robert J. Miller, Director of the Rosette, LLP American Indian Economic Development Program at the Sandra Day O\u2019Connor College of Law at ASU.<\/p>\n

Conference participants will hear from speakers on business opportunities; legal and jurisdictional changes affecting tribal business decisions; and featured speakers.<\/p>\n

Keynote speaker Jackie Reses<\/strong> is the Chair and CEO of Lead Bank, a community bank in Kansas City. Previously, she was the Executive Chairman of Square Financial Services and Capital Lead and Head of the People Team at Block Inc (Square). Prior, she had leadership positions at Yahoo! and was a Partner at Apax Partners Worldwide.  Jackie also spent seven years at Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions and the principal investment area. <\/p>\n

Jackie is Chairwoman of the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Jackie is also on the board of directors of Endeavor, Affirm and Nubank. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors of Alibaba Group. She has been named one of Forbes \u201cSelf Made Women\u201d, Fast Company\u2019s \u201cMost Creative People in Business,\u201d and American Banker \u201cMost Powerful Woman in Finance\u201d. She holds multiple patents in payments and cryptocurrency.  <\/p>\n

       Mark Brnovich<\/strong>, former Attorney General of Arizona<\/p>\n
