Thevenin serves as the general counsel for the United States Council for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">International Business (USCIB\/ICC USA), the U.S. national committee to the ICC\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">International Court of Arbitration\u00a9 and manages USCIB\/ICC USA\u2019s Arbitration &amp; ADR\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Committee, which, inter alia, provides assistance in the nomination of U.S. arbitrators,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">makes referrals to parties seeking arbitration practitioners and arbitrators, organizes\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">seminars and corporate roundtables, and serves as a resource for the U.S. business\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">community about the ICC\u2019s dispute resolution services.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Aside from general corporate\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">counsel duties, Ms. Thevenin also manages requests for USCIB to participate in amicus brief filings on issues of relevance to USCIB membership.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ms. Thevenin is also an international arbitrator and mediator, a Fellow of the Chartered\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Institute of Arbitrators and an adjunct professor of the International Commercial\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Arbitration course at St. John&#8217;s University School of Law. She is also the immediate past\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">chair of the New York State Bar Association\u2019s International Section.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ms. Thevenin advises on arbitrations, mediation strategy, dispute boards, expertise\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">proceedings, ad hoc cases and use of emergency arbitrator procedures. Her experience\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">includes arbitrations under various institutional rules, including the ICC, ICDR, and ICSID and advising on early resolution of matters that would otherwise become formal\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">disputes.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Ms. Thevenin\u2019s experience includes handling disputes for multinational\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">companies and governments in the construction and engineering, financial services,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">commercial real estate and aviation industries, often involving issues concerning mergers and acquisition, sales, distribution, licensing, technology transfer and leasing agreements.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A graduate of Cornell University and Tulane Law School, Ms. Thevenin started her practice as an international litigation and arbitration practitioner in Miami, Florida, then served as deputy director of arbitration and ADR for North America for the ICC International Court of Arbitration in New York, and thereafter, was a special counsel in and global coordinator of Baker &amp; McKenzie\u2019s International Arbitration Practice Group.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ms. Thevenin speaks English, Spanish, French and Haitian Creole.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy M.
