Inc.\u00a0 Freeport is a leading international mining company with headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.\u00a0 It is one of the world\u2019s largest publicly traded copper producers, and operates large, long-lived and geographically diverse copper, gold and molybdenum assets around the world.<\/p><p>Scott is responsible for litigation, environmental, water and state and local government affairs within the legal department.\u00a0 Scott served as Deputy General Counsel from 2015-2019, and Assistant General Counsel from 2010-2015.\u00a0<\/p><p>Prior to coming to Freeport, he was Senior Counsel Litigation and Environmental at ConocoPhillips in Houston.\u00a0 He began his litigation career at Vinson &amp; Elkins, and practiced in Houston as a litigation associate and then partner from 1987-2008.\u00a0 Scott has tried cases as first and second chair counsel, and served as national and regional coordinating counsel in personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, environmental, pharmaceutical, biomedical and class action litigation.
