Sara Marzal has served as Legal Counsel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) since 2015. In her role in one of ICSID’s Case Management Teams, she acts as Secretary for tribunals and ad hoc committees in arbitration and annulment proceedings under the ICSID Convention, the ICSID Additional Facility Rules, and the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. These proceedings span a diverse range of sectors, including natural resources and infrastructure.
Prior to joining ICSID, Sara worked as an attorney in the international dispute resolution department of the law firms Clifford Chance US LLP, Chadbourne & Parke LLP, and Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C., as well as in the litigation department of Uría Menéndez in Spain. She also worked on international trade matters as a consultant in the International Trade and Integration Sector at the Inter-American Development Bank and as a clerk at the World Trade Organization Appellate Body Secretariat.
