Abby Cohen Smutny is Global Head of International Arbitration at White & Case LLP. Abby is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading international arbitration practitioners and is an experienced arbitrator. She has over 30 years’ experience representing parties in both commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitrations. She is a member of ICCA’s Executive Body, a Counsellor of the American Society of International Law, a member of the Court of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration. She has served as Chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA), Vice-President of American Society of International Law, Vice-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the IBA and Chair of its Investment Treaty Sub-Committee, President of LCIA’s North American Users Council, a member of the AAA-ICDR Council, and Chair of the International Law Section of the Washington DC Bar.
