Baiju Vasani is an international arbitration lawyer and arbitrator based in London. After leaving Ivanyan & Partners, where he served as Managing Partner and Global Head of International Arbitration, Vasani accepted a tenancy at Twenty Essex.
For over two decades, Vasani has served as advocate or arbitrator in dozens of high-value international arbitrations across a range of sectors and industries involving ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, ICDR, SIAC, BITs, the Energy Charter Treaty, and public international law. He also advised States on the negotiation and drafting of investment treaties, and has particular experience in creating and managing winning global strategies for both investors and States in high-stakes, sensitive disputes involving geopolitical issues or major criminal allegations. His primary geographical focus is on disputes in the former Soviet Union states, Eastern Europe, Africa, North and South America, the Middle East, and West and South Asia.
