The Indian Legal Program at Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Tribal Board Governance Academy. This training equips current and future board leaders, directors, and members with the knowledge, tools and cultural competency needed to govern effectively in tribal contexts and strengthen tribal board governance.

The program offers a structured, practical curriculum covering board governance, fiduciary responsibility, strategic planning, financial literacy and risk management, with a focus on frameworks unique to tribal boards, businesses, enterprises, and organizations. Participants will develop the skills needed to fulfill their roles and advance tribal interests with accountability and foresight. Instruction is delivered by distinguished faculty, experienced attorneys, and subject matter experts in Indian law and tribal board governance.
